2016 Technical Specifications
Alcohol 14.5%
Classification Grand Cru
Region Les Grandes Lolieres
Production Details The 2016 release was separately bottled as Corton Grand Cru Les Grandes Lolières; the importer notes that this cru is incorporated into Corton Blanc in some other years. Le Moine vinified the white wines and produced only one to three barrels from each cru. The wines remained on their lees, received gentle bâtonnage several times monthly and were not racked during this period. The cool, humid cellar delayed malolactic fermentation; little SO2 was used. Bottling was performed by hand through gravity feed after a full moon, without fining, filtration or sulfur addition at bottling.
Tasting Notes Wine Advocate (5 March 2020): green pear, fresh peach, lemon oil, butter, almond and toast; deep, full-bodied and textural, with lively acidity and a long finish. Vinous (31 October 2018): ginger-seasoned apple, wet stone, minerality, spices and fresh herbs; fresh, harmonious, tactile and long.
