Soil Deep, Rich red-clay soil with substantial rock beneath.
Orientation South/Southeast
Vine Age Up to 93 years old
Indigenous Yeast Yes
Barrel Size 350
Production Details The domaine worked a small 0.21-hectare parcel. Because of a 161/9C rootstock problem, the 2023 cuvée was produced only from its old vines. The domaine's 2023 whites underwent spontaneous fermentation and maturation in 350 L barrels; no wine-specific new-oak percentage or maturation duration was published for Clos du Cromin.
Tasting Notes The 2023 showed lees-derived reduction, concentrated pure fruit, a long finish and a saline character.
