2013 Technical Specifications
Drinking Window 2018-2025
Classification Premier Cru
Region Clos de Verger
Production Details The producer described 2013 as a low-yield vintage requiring chaptalization and using its customary very late malolactic fermentations. Stephen Tanzer identifies this wine as coming from vines below Chanières in a cool combe. At Burghound's February visit, the producer's 2013 wines had not been racked or sulfured and retained noticeable CO2; decanting was recommended. These cellar observations are release-level context, not finished-wine analytical values.
Tasting Notes Stephen Tanzer: leather, red fruit and peppery herbs; supple, floral, midweight palate with red licorice. Burghound: earthy red and dark currants; rich, muscular and intense medium-weight flavors, with mild sweetness, austerity and a balanced finish.

Classification Premier Cru
Region Clos de Verger
Orientation South/Southeast
Production Details At the November tasting, the producer's 2012 wines had undergone deliberately delayed secondary (malolactic) fermentation, beginning at the end of June and mostly finishing at the end of August; the wines had not yet been racked. This is stated for the producer's 2012 range rather than as an individual finished-wine analysis.
Tasting Notes Stephen Tanzer: medium red; deep, slightly exotic raspberry aroma; moderately fleshy and sweet, with a spicy, firmly tannic finish.
