Production Details This is a multi-vintage blend from several harvests. The current producer technical sheet is internally inconsistent: its narrative describes approximately 30 crus and at least four years sur latte before disgorgement, whereas its specification block gives 40 crus and three years of cellar ageing. The specification block also says reserve wines vary to maintain the cuvée’s consistent style and lists bottle and magnum formats. A separate current producer visitor menu identifies Nocturne as non-vintage and states at least four years of cellar ageing.
Tasting Notes Pale yellow with shimmering highlights and a fine mousse; acacia, elderflower, honey, lychee, yellow peach, date, dried apricot, earthy vanilla, caramel and blond tobacco on the nose; fresh and generous on entry, with cooked fig, lightly roasted almond, acacia honey and vanilla, finishing smooth and long.
Food Pairing Fruit desserts, cheesecake, chocolate-based desserts, seafood, foie gras and soft blue cheese.
