Region Champagne
Harvest Dates 18 September to 10 October 2004
Sites Red Pinot Noir component from selected crus of the Montagne de Reims
Fermentation Vessels Temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats
Pressing Method Grapes Were Quickly And Gently Pressed
Production Details A first settling occurred at the pressing centre and a second cold settling at the winery. Varieties and crus were vinified separately at low temperature before final blending. After blending and bottling, the cuvée matured for nearly 10 years in Pol Roger's 33-metre-deep cellars before riddling and disgorgement. Vinothèque bottles were hand-riddled traditionally before disgorgement and dosage. After their original disgorgement, bottles were returned to the cool cellars for additional undisturbed maturation until final release.
Tasting Notes Intense luminous salmon-pink with copper tints and fine bubbles; orange, wild strawberry, Gariguette strawberry, clove-like spice, sangria, clementine and elderflower; fresh and vibrant, with a long saline, fruity-spicy finish
