Production Details Gently pressed fruit was very lightly settled and transferred directly to wood. Spontaneous indigenous-yeast alcoholic and malolactic fermentations occurred in barrels and Stockinger foudres. The base wine spent its first year on natural lees, with winter bâtonnage, without filtration or fining; Alliance specifies 12 months in Stockinger vats and casks, with 100% of the wine oaked and no new oak. Bottling took place at the end of July. The producer states at least six additional years of bottle maturation on laths; Alliance says more than six years. Bottles were hand-disgorged one year before sale. The May 2023 disgorgement reported in Valkyrie’s embedded Vinous and Wine Advocate reviews applies to the reviewed bottles and is not generalized as a vintage-wide disgorgement date.
Tasting Notes Antonio Galloni/Vinous: creamy and open-knit, with dried pear, crushed flowers, mint and chamomile. Wine Advocate: lemon peel, honeysuckle, oyster shell, crystalline minerality and salinity.

Bottle maturation on laths exceeded six years, followed by hand disgorgement one year before release.
