Production Details Fermented in stainless steel tanks using cultured house yeast strains. Full malolactic fermentation completed. First Plénitude release after 8 years of lees aging. Produced from Grand Cru and Premier Cru (Hautvillers) vineyards. Vintage described as 'star vintage' and 'year of contrasts' by Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon, comparable to 1990 and 2008. Challenging conditions: aggressive winter/spring with frost, hail, torrential rain, cold spells during flowering, and disease pressure (mildew). Summer brought intense heat waves, plenty of sun with warm/dry conditions that concentrated fruit. Low yields due to challenging conditions. Harvest Sept 10-26 depending on parcels.
