Production Details Current release: selected age-worthy wines enter a perpetual reserve maintained in 600 L demi-muids and begun in 1984; each year two-thirds is bottled, followed by 36 months bottle-stacked sur lattes before disgorgement. The current bottling is two-thirds 2019 base wine, disgorged November 2024, with 6 g/L dosage. Historical release contexts checked: the base-2007 release contained two-thirds 2007 wine, was aged in 600 L barrels and had 5.5 g/L dosage; a base-2015 bottle had tirage in 2017 and disgorgement in December 2019, with the quoted Wine Advocate note reporting 0.6 g/L dosage; and the base-2017 release included 25% perpetual-reserve wine reportedly extending back to 1982 and was the first magnum-only release. The historical 0.6 g/L figure and differing reserve-start dates are retained as source-specific statements rather than reconciled with the current 6 g/L and 1984 specifications.
Tasting Notes Subtle oxidative character; dried fruits, green almonds and Manuka honey; umami-rich mouthfeel; long finish with chalky bitters
Critics Ratings 95/100 — Antonio Galloni, November 2012, base-2007 release
