Production Details The grapes are hand harvested and pressed; fermentation occurs in tanks before transfer to barrels, and the gross lees are not allowed to settle out after pressing. The 0.22-acre parcel comprises five rows and was planted in 1972. The two importer assets attached to the 2018 release conflict on maturation duration: the technical sheet states 12–24 months in 60–70% new oak, while the fact sheet states 12 months in 60–70% new oak.
Tasting Notes Importer release descriptors: white flowers and other florals, citrus peel, spice, white-orchard fruit including pear and apple, warm caramel, intense minerality, and a refined persistent finish. Allen Meadows, June 2021: acacia blossom, mineral reduction, mint tea, white-fleshed fruit, spice and anise; dense, sharply delineated mineral flavors with firm youthful austerity, warmth and a very long finish.
