Grape Varieties 54% Grenache, 28% Syrah, 9% Marselan, 5% Mourvèdre, 4% Carignan
Drinking Window Drink now (James Suckling review dated September 2026)
Region Cotes du Rhone
Soil Rolled pebbles over sand, Marl and clay for grenache; lighter, Loess-rich soils in the cévennes foothills for syrah and mourvèdre
Harvest Dates September 10–29, 2024
Sites Syrah from the east bank of the Rhône; Grenache from the Arc des Dentelles and cooler, higher vineyards near Valréas
Production Details High April–June rainfall created severe fungal-disease pressure and substantial vineyard losses, while July–August conditions preserved grape health. The fruit was rigorously sorted and the resulting yield was around 20 hl/ha. The harvest was fully destemmed; extraction used daily pump-overs under temperature control. Maturation was mainly in stainless-steel tanks, with more structured lots matured in oak, for a minimum of 12 months before bottling.
Tasting Notes Generous, mature Grenache gives roundness and richness; red berries lead the nose, followed by sweet spices and a savory, persistent finish.
Food Pairing Flank steak, potato rösti and sautéed chanterelles
