Production Details Release context: cellar master Cyril Brun selected four standout 2017 barrels, one for each single-cru Chardonnay Coteaux Champenois from Villers-Marmery, Oger, Vertus and Montgueux. Meininger identifies Villers-Marmery as a one-barrique wine in this series and reports collaboration with the local Coopérative des Vignerons Réunis; Charles Heidsieck had placed 30 barriques there mainly to mature Chardonnay base wines.
Tasting Notes In The World of Fine Wine Issue 71 (2021), Essi Avellan MW described lemon colour, sweet fruit, pastry, wax, ground coffee, rich oak, an oily texture and vivacity; Simon Field MW noted youth, slight reduction and steely acidity; Jancis Robinson MW noted sweet spice, freshness and a light-bodied impression.
