Production Details The 1.30-ha Champ Caïn parcel contains 12,000 Chardonnay vines planted in 1962 and is Chablis-pruned. Winter and much of spring 2015 were mild and rainy, followed by drought and strong heat until mid-August, then alternating cool, wet and hot, dry conditions. Perfectly ripe grapes were picked on 21 September. The producer reports harvest-grape measurements of 11.50% vol potential alcohol and 5.7 g/L acidity; the acid basis is not stated, and these are not presented as finished-wine analyses.

August and September were warmer and drier allowing for a late but very beautiful harvest. Foot of hill facing due south.
