Production Details Dry wine with sweetness index 1. It came from a low-yielding 1947 vineyard planted with local massal selections on fine gravel west of Wintzenheim. The producer says this parcel’s fruit formed part of the Wintzenheim village wine through 2011; in 2013 it was bottled separately and produced a dry wine. Total acidity was 2.3 g/L on the H2SO4 basis, equivalent to 3.6 g/L tartaric acid.
Tasting Notes Producer note dated March 2015: spicy, smoked bacon, pepper and floral aromas; a strongly dry impression with tannic, almost red-wine-like structure; a more velvety, less aggressive finish.
