Soil Quaternary gravel
Vineyard Yield 35 hL/ha
Sites Riesling Turckheim blended with the producer's Roche Roulée cuvée
Production Details Because of the small 2023 Riesling crop in the Herrenweg sector, affected by poor fruit set and summer drought, Riesling Turckheim was combined with Roche Roulée. The technical table states an average vine age of 36 years, but the producer's narrative says the true average for the blended wine would be substantially higher; therefore no exact vine_age value is proposed. Healthy, physiologically ripe fruit underwent a fairly rapid fermentation and produced a dry wine.
Tasting Notes Producer tasting note, August 2024: pale clear yellow; ripe bergamot, citrus and vineyard peach; precise, elegant and finely textured, with enveloping velvety palate, gentle ripe acidity and an airy dry finish.

Soil Gravelly sandy-loam valley-floor soil

Sites Riesling Turckheim and Roche Roulée cuvées blended together
Vine Age 36
Bottling Date August 2023
Production Details The 2022 crop suffered losses during flowering and produced very small berries during a dry, hot summer. The resulting high skin-to-juice ratio contributed aromatic intensity. The Turckheim and Roche Roulée components were blended in a smaller cask; fermentation was rapid and finished completely dry.
Tasting Notes Producer tasting note, January 2024: pale clear yellow; delicately perfumed and floral, with a lacy texture; light, elegant, juicy and bone-dry, with an easy-drinking palate.

Region Alsace
Soil Alluvial valley-floor soil of large pebbles, Gravel and fine sand
Vineyard Yield 68 hL/ha
Vine Age 34
Bottling Date March 2019
Production Details The vineyards occupy the poorest portion of Turckheim's alluvial deposit. In the drought-affected 2018 season, a smaller crop on older vines and leaving the vines unhedged helped ripening and shaded the grapes. Small berries produced a high skin-to-juice ratio and aromatic intensity. Fermentation was fast, followed by early bottling and release in 2019.
Tasting Notes Producer tasting note, April 2020: clear pale yellow; highly aromatic flowers and delicate fruit; delicate palate, fresh structure despite relatively low acidity, medium-bodied and fully dry.
