2016 Technical Specifications
Region Valle de la Orotava
Soil Volcanic rock with clay and sandy-loam soils varying with altitude
Orientation North-Facing; Rows Planted East–West
Production Details The importer’s winemaker interview identifies 2016 as the start of earlier picking to obtain lower potential alcohol and higher acidity. It subsequently describes the evolving approach as using more whole bunches, less extraction, gentle foot-treading and 20–30-day Listán Negro macerations, but does not explicitly establish that every latter practice applied in full to the 2016 bottling. The parcel is at 450–550 m and contains approximately 80-year-old Listán Negro plus younger Tintilla.
Tasting Notes Earthy nose; simultaneously light and structured; compared by winemaker Jonatan García to Nebbiolo
