Production Details The Hipping source site is classified VDP.GROSSE LAGE®. It lies at 80–174 m elevation on steep slopes with a 60–120% gradient, chiefly on the upper Rotliegend; its microclimate is influenced by the broad, warm Rhine and intense morning sun.
Tasting Notes Julia Harding MW (June 2017): smoky, herbal and grapefruit aromas, with spicy lemon and apricot on an intense, fresh, balanced and very long palate. David Schildknecht (July 2016): apple, lime, grapefruit, white peach, crushed stone and sea breeze, with density, lightness and a tart-edged, gripping finish.
