Production Details The 0.8-ha estate holding is terraced, southeast-facing and has an approximately 20% gradient; the classified Schild area is 1.2 ha at 180–220 m elevation. The original planting dates to 2011 and part was grafted over in 2021. Grapes were harvested with 100% selective hand-picking into small boxes, followed by skin fermentation with 20% whole clusters and 17 months of barrique maturation. The producer's range-wide 2023 Spätburgunder note reports rapid fermentation and extraction and consequently a shorter-than-usual maceration to retain elegance and balance.
Tasting Notes Precise and multilayered, with a calcareous-mineral character, depth, finesse and characteristic maturity
Food Pairing Venison loin with Spätburgunder sauce, green beans and pearl barley; or lamb ragout with bean cassoulet and spaetzle
