Production Details The producer reports that warm, humid weather in mid-October caused some Riesling berries to split; fruit for noble-sweet Auslesen was left longer to use the concentrating effect of noble rot. The exact trade entry is a 0.375 L release. The estate describes Monzingen vineyards at 160–250 m elevation and groups Frühlingsplätzchen with Halenberg as south- to southwest-facing slopes reaching up to 70%.
Tasting Notes Orange marmalade, ginger and cardamom; exotic and playful, with an acidity kick and greater concentration and complexity than the regular Auslese
Critics Ratings Robert Parker 96 points; Lobenberg 97–98 points

2003 Technical Specifications
Region Nahe
Production Details The estate’s 2003 harvest began in early October with golden, sweet grapes. September rain initiated some noble rot that dried into raisins during the dry autumn; the producer presents this as vintage-level context and does not establish that every bottle of this Auslese contained botrytised fruit.
Critics Ratings Gault Millau 92 points
