Sites Best part of the Ayler Kupp vineyard
Production Details The parcel is described as the steepest and warmest part of Ayler Kupp, with a 70% gradient and naturally low yield. The producer says the vines were planted in 1956 but also calls them 65 years old on this 2025 product page; because those statements conflict arithmetically, no canonical vine-age value is proposed.

Contains Added Sulfites Yes
Production Details Fruit comes from hand-picked, naturally low-yielding old vines planted in 1956. The parcel reaches a 70% gradient. The page says grapes may receive several hours of skin contact depending on vintage, followed by spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts and maturation in traditional Mosel Fuder. A Mosel Fine Wines cask sample had less than 1 g/L residual sugar; because this was explicitly a cask sample, that figure is not proposed as finished-wine residual sugar.
Tasting Notes Pear, grapefruit peel, white currant, quince, white flowers, smoky slate and flint; taut, dense and saline, with ginger and white pepper on the finish. Mosel Fine Wines' cask sample additionally showed wet stone, smoke, yellow peach, greengage, licorice, aniseed and herbs.
Food Pairing Grilled sea bream with ratatouille; spaghetti with radicchio and Gorgonzola sauce; veal fillet with rosemary potatoes
