Production Details The producer's estate-wide 2023 report, reproduced on the exact-wine page, says the third cluster on every shoot was removed; spraying was ecological through 4 July, after which an oidium infection was controlled. About 250 mm of rain fell from 24 July through 31 August, prompting three further treatments using systemic products. The estate harvest began on 20 September and the final grapes were brought in on 10 October. The reported average estate yield was 28 hl/ha; this is estate-wide context and not a Scharzhofberger Kabinett vineyard yield.
Tasting Notes Lobenberg describes radiant white and pale-yellow fruit, grapefruit peel, fresh ginger, white tea, slate, salt, kumquat, mandarin and green apricot. Parker describes the AP 03 24 sample as dense, refined, slate-driven, savory and fresh, with racy acidity. Suckling notes stone fruit, spring blossom and an extremely long, precise finish.
Critics Ratings Lobenberg 97+/100; Parker 96/100; Suckling 95/100
