Production Details Manual and optical sorting of grapes, pressing in small vertical presses. Expression of Puente Alto terroir. Maintains fresh character despite dry and hot vintage. Well-structured vintage built to age well and be enjoyed for several decades. Cabernet Sauvignon harvested March 13-April 24 in Puente Alto; Carménère harvested April 25-May 5 in Peumo. Extremely dry winter (119 mm rainfall June-September 2022, 41% below average). Warmer than normal October budbreak. Warmer October-December period with variable flowering/fruit set conditions causing some coulure. Very dry spring (7 mm October-December). Extremely hot summer with temperatures 2°C above normal. Hottest March in Chile's history. Early ripening due to high summer temperatures requiring early harvest to maintain fruit and acidity. April-May warmer than usual with minimal rain after harvest completion. Nicely layered, broad and complex bouquet with freshness of fruit, delicate aromas of cassis, strawberries and dewberries. Elegant notes of tobacco, cedar, earth, olives and soft spices. Outstanding amplitude and balance with smooth texture, great acidity, elegance and persistence. Round, refined and well-polished tannins enhancing juicy and approachable character. Well-built wine combining harmoniously volume, finesse and freshness.
