Production Details Grapes were destemmed to open fermenters as whole berries, plunged twice daily for 10 days, then pressed to finish alcoholic fermentation and undergo malolactic fermentation in new and seasoned French oak barrels. The two vineyard batches remained separate until final blending after 20 months. The page also reports TA 7.1 but supplies neither a unit nor an acid-equivalent basis, so that figure is not proposed as canonical total acidity.
Tasting Notes Intense dark fruit, blackberry, mulberry and blueberry with dried leafy herbs and oak spice; full-bodied palate with blood plum, cassis and black cherry, integrated French oak and youthful tannins

Alcohol 14.5%
Grape Varieties Cabernet Sauvignon
Region McLaren Vale
Soil Deep sand to sandy loam over clay
Orientation Very Gentle North-Westerly Aspect With East–West Row Orientation
Sites Haselgrove-owned vineyard in McLaren Flat, McLaren Vale
Fermentation Vessels Open fermenters, followed by French oak hogsheads after pressing
Pressing Method Pressed After Eight Days On Skins
Maceration 8 days
Oak Types French oak
Barrel Size Hogsheads
Production Details Fruit came from vines planted in 1972. Grapes were crushed without destemming, cold-soaked under inert gas for three days, fermented in open vessels at 22–28°C, plunged three times daily with a gentle pump-over at peak fermentation, and pressed after eight days on skins. The wine then entered French oak hogsheads and remained as a separate batch; individual barrels were selected after 18 months. The page is internally inconsistent about new oak: its winemaking section specifies one- and two-year-old hogsheads, while its palate text describes a generous portion of new French oak, so no new-oak proportion or used-oak-only boolean is proposed.
Tasting Notes Opulent dark cassis and berry compote with dried herb and festive spice; rich, full-bodied dense red fruit, structured tannins and bright natural acidity
