Soil Top block has high ironstone rocky ridge and ironstone “coffee rock” soils; the 1988 and 2006 plantings are on duplex soils of ironstone gravel over clay subsoil.

Vine Age Fruit sources include Justins Vineyard planted in the late 1960s, original Frankland Estate parcels planted in 1988, and younger Top Block vines planted in 2006.

Pressing Method Grapes Were Pressed Immediately Upon Arrival At The Winery.
Production Details Juice settled in tank overnight before racking; fermentation proceeded at 12–15°C for four weeks with minimal winemaker intervention.
Tasting Notes Vibrant and fresh, with lemon, kaffir lime, feijoa, chalk, bath salts, biscuit and creamy undertones; the palate shows spicy citrus zest, lime, green tea, soft juicy length and a pure acid line.
