Production Details The wine is non-vintage fortified Grüner Veltliner. Across the current VSN and official predecessor VDN sheets, grapes are hand-harvested; the current sheet describes the vineyards as mostly organically farmed, while the VDN sheet says organically farmed. After an unspecified maceration period, fermentation in stainless steel is stopped by adding Wachau Veltliner brandy at about 60% alcohol. The wine then spends one to two years in wooden cask on fine lees before blending with reserve wine. The current blend includes up to 30% reserve wine, with a portion increasingly drawn from a solera cask.
