Production Details The Langenlois Hasel site lies at 250–280 m; vines are 30–50 years old, planted at 3,000 vines/ha and trained by Guyot and Hochkultur (Lenz Moser), with a reported yield of 35–45 hl/ha. Half the fruit was crushed with stems and macerated for 5 days at 8°C; the other half was destemmed, retained as whole berries and macerated for 8 days. Spontaneous fermentation began on the skins; the wine was pressed after 8 days and fermentation continued in wooden casks. It matured for 7 months on full lees in wood, then was racked and blended and remained on fine lees until bottling. No SO2 was added, and bottling was without filtration or fining. The producer page recommends serving at 14–16°C.
