Production Details Single-vineyard Syrah from a 1.1 ha block in Groenberg. The clusters were hand-picked into 18-kg crates, hand selected and sorted, destemmed, and softly crushed. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at 26-30 C for 10 days, followed by 10-15 days of skin maceration. Malolactic fermentation took place mainly in French oak barrels, with 20% new oak and the balance in first- and second-fill barrels. The wine remained in barrel for 30 months in temperature-controlled cellars. The page also states a further 12 months of bottle ageing prior to release.
