Production Details Leeuwenkuil practices dry-land viticulture due to the harsh, dry conditions where bush-vine vineyards thrive. These dry-land farmed, bush-vine vineyards, planted in mineral-rich decomposed, granite soil, deliver exceptionally low yields of quality fruit with depth, concentration and texture. After handpicking the grapes, they were whole-bunch pressed to retain their natural acidity. Some parcels were wild fermented in 5,000L French oak foudres, some in stainless steel tanks, and others in cement tanks; then aged for 9 months before blending and bottling. Harvest 2025 followed one of the longest, wettest winters but winter was followed by a very long dry spell. The 2025 harvest progressed on text-book timing allowing healthy pH, sugars & acid for a layered, nuanced vintage.
