Production Details Banghoek ward fruit from estate-grown vineyards at 300-350 meters, mostly southerly facing, on decomposed granite and sandstone soils with gravel and clay. Grapes were harvested by hand and berry sorted into stainless steel fermenters. Fermentation commenced spontaneously and was finished with a pure strain. Extraction used punch-down, rack-and-return, and pump-over methods. The wine completed malolactic fermentation in small 225L French oak barrels and was racked three times. Blending took place after 20 months aging, followed by tank aging, and the wine was bottled after a total of 22 months. Average yield was 5-8 tons/ha. Production was 8,896 x 750ml.
