Production Details Official producer Pinotage page states bush-vine Pinotage was handpicked at phenolic ripeness and stored at 10 C before crushing. Skins and juice cold-macerated in French oak tanks for 6 days, then flavour and colour developed for 4 weeks before transfer to 100% French oak 225 l barrels for 16-18 months. The wine is described as matured in 100% French oak (second-fill). Production listed as 40x barrels. The 2016 harvest was warmer and drier than usual, resulting in lower yields from smaller berries and darker, concentrated red wines with velvety tannins.
