Production Details Grapes were destemmed and macerated for almost 2 weeks with manual immersion of the cap (pigeage) to ensure best possible extraction. Wine matured for almost 10 months in 50% new oak barriques. First time in 50% new oak since 2003 and 1990. Entire production closed with DIAM cork to prevent cork taint. Vineyard planted in 1966, acquired in 1985 by three nephews of Johnny Hugel. Vines were 43 years old at harvest. From chalky Pflostig slope in Riquewihr.
