Production Details Two unirrigated bush-vine vineyards planted in 1902 and 1942 grow in the Franschhoek Riverbed on little to no slope. A third vineyard planted in 1936 lies on a 45-degree south-facing slope. Some vines have mutated to Semillon Gris and were harvested in a second picking. A small portion of Muscat d'Alexandrie from 1902 vines was included. Grapes were spontaneously fermented, with Semillon matured for 14 months at low temperatures without sulphur additions: 70% in new French oak barriques and 30% in concrete eggs. The Muscat d'Alexandrie was skin-fermented and matured in clay amphora.
