Production Details Grapes from three finest plots of Hugel estate in chalky Pflostig taken in small tubs to presses filled by gravity, without pumping or mechanical intervention. Must decanted for few hours, then fermented in temperature-controlled barrels or vats at 18-24°C. Lightly filtered before bottling in spring following vintage. Bottles aged extensively in family cellars before release. Hallmark vintage for Pinot: exceptionally mild winter with very early budburst (March 21), uneven flowering, record rainfall in July-August delayed maturity. Dry September ensured slow ideal maturation. Yields very low. Healthy grapes with high acidity and superb maturity.
