Production Details Grapes from three finest plots of Hugel estate in chalky Pflostig taken in small tubs to presses filled by gravity, without pumping or mechanical intervention. Must decanted for few hours, then fermented in temperature-controlled barrels or vats at 18-24°C. Lightly filtered before bottling in spring following vintage. Bottles aged extensively in family cellars. Vintage with highly variable weather: late start with damp spring and coulure causing smaller crop, high temperatures and exceptional summer brought grapes to perfect maturity. Healthy, ripe grapes from October 1 harvest.
